Billing an agent can leave is billing an agent can trust.
Agents in this market have paid for twelve-month lock-ins, hard-to-reach cancellation lines, and renewals they never agreed to. RealtorZip's answer is structural: month-to-month billing, self-serve cancellation, webhook-verified activation, and published inventory. Every statement below describes how the billing system actually behaves today.
Month-to-month, at the published price
A RealtorZip position is a recurring monthly Stripe subscription at the ZIP's published band price — $50, $75, or $100 per month. There is no long-term contract, no minimum term, and no unpublished pricing. The price band for every ZIP is shown on its market page before an account even exists.
Cancellation is self-serve
An active subscriber can open the secure Stripe billing portal from their RealtorZip account and cancel without contacting anyone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the already-paid period: the account page shows the position as active with its end date, the ZIP page counts it as a scheduled cancellation, and the slot reopens when the paid period ends.
Activation is webhook-verified, never assumed
A position activates only when RealtorZip receives the verified payment event from Stripe — not when a browser redirect claims success. Checkout itself opens only after sign-in and human verification of the agent's license and brokerage, so payment can never precede verification.
A failed renewal is handled in the open
When a renewal payment fails, the position stays reserved while Stripe retries the charge, and the agent is removed from public matching immediately during that grace state. The system is built to release the slot, not to chase the balance: when Stripe marks the subscription unpaid, paused, expired, or canceled, the position is released and the public listing ends.
Scarcity stays auditable
Every ZIP page publishes its slot-level position roster, live inventory counts, and checkout holds — before purchase, including when the honest numbers are zeros. Before secure purchasing is active, inventory is labeled as not active rather than presented as filling up.
What does not exist yet
A seasonal pause that keeps a slot reserved at a reduced rate is planned but not yet available — today, a Stripe-paused subscription releases the slot rather than parking it, and this page will say so until the day that changes. RealtorZip announces billing features when they exist, not before. Cancellation, refunds, and disputes are otherwise governed by the terms of service, and questions reach a human through the contact page.
